iTouch PLC was founded in 1995 and floated on the London Stock Exchange in August 2000. The Company has been recently acquired by Buongiorno, multinational leader in the mobile entertainment market worldwide. With the acquisition of iTouch, BUONGIORNO has become the world's No. 1 company in mobile entertainment, with 38 offices, business in 53 countries, direct connections to more than 100 telephone carriers throughout the world, and access to over 2 billion mobile users. It also ranks among the first three companies in 8 of the largest markets. Buongiorno’s iTouch provides its customers with a wide range of services which can be grouped under three categories.

  • Information Services - regular news updates, weather, sport, share prices, horoscopes.
  • Entertainment services - device personalisation (ring tones, wallpapers, logos etc) and games
  • Messaging services - voting, chat and promotions which are run on behalf of consumer brands and media partners.

Buongiorno’s iTouch builds its own consumer brands by extensively advertising services available through its direct channel model e.g. 8181 Jippii in the UK and 7777 in Spain etc but also offers 'white-label' mobile technology solutions to corporates ("iBrand").

iTouch has built and strengthened relationships with some of the world's leading content brands (i.e. Zomba Records, Universal, EMI, Sony Pictures etc). iTouch acts as an aggregator and licensee for this content which is delivered via its mobile technology platform. The Group has a dedicated team in-house that sources and develops the mobile content and its extensive library now has more than 34,000 items. iTouch continues to build and maintain key content relationships with global media partners and pan-European carriers which, coupled with local market focus and expertise, enables the Group to successfully execute its focused marketing strategy and enhance its dynamic profile. iTouch also develops new channels to market such as operator and own branded portal communities available throughout the Group's countries.

2004 Activity Highlights

Buongiorno’s iTouch signed a global licensing and distribution agreement with Eurofun Mobile Entertainment and DTR for 'Shark Tale', the latest DreamWorks production which was released in the UK on 15 October. iTouch distributes content through the Group's own direct channels in 25 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain and Russia. Content includes Java adventure and Trivia games, screensavers and 30 colour wallpapers, polyphonic ring tones, MMS greetings, video clips and comics. Following the success of Shrek 2 and The Hulk, 'Shark Tale' is the latest example of iTouch's involvement in the distribution of high profile entertainment content.

The Group completed the acquisition of Jippii Mobile Entertainment on 31 August. The Jippii acquisition increases the iTouch footprint to 25 countries with connectivity to 94 network operators.

During the period, iTouch also signed a mobile entertainment solutions agreement with Siemens Mobile covering 19 European countries providing Siemens Mobile with solutions which enable it to deliver the best mobile entertainment content to its handset owners. Under this agreement Siemens benefits from key services such as premium billing SMS-network, content aggregation, copyright management and content delivery and updates. Siemens handset owners can access mobile content such as monophonic and polyphonic ring tones, black and white logos, colour wallpapers, Java-games as well as Siemens exclusive content. The content is available in 19 European countries including the UK, Germany, Spain and Russia and is accessed via the Siemens-Mobile web-sites, WAP-sites and embedded JAVA-applications in new Siemens handsets.

The UK voice business, which focuses on key media clients and brands such as ClubCall, Weathercall, Racecall and Teleshare, had an excellent 2004 with increased demand for information services and sales to media partners, such as Big Brother voting. Significant new contracts were signed with Channel 4, Ladbrokes, O2, Virgin, tMobile and Comic Relief

In 2004 iTouch also signed an important global licensing agreement with For-Side, a leading Japanese mobile services provider, based in Tokyo and listed in on JASDAQ. The agreement gives iTouch access to For-Side's wide range of content and 3G know-how.
